Thanks, i suspected the same. However, I find things like this very frustrating in this product,. We have many auditors (non technical) users who use and create reports on permissions changed etc. The user interface should at least indicate to the operator/user that these fields will not be populated on NetApp filers. Otherwise is just generates confusion for users

Export list of workstations

Is there a way to export out a list of the workstations that I am currently monitoring? Either through the gui somehow or possibly in the database? I want to be able to compare what I have in the application to active computer accounts in AD.

Issue with Filter comparisons in Custom reports

Just highlighting what we see as a major problem with the filtering logic in custom reports. Consider the following filters:

You would expect these filters to return the same data. In fact, the first filter will return no data.

The reason is that if using MSSQL DB, the code does not handle the 'Equals' operator correctly resulting in a SQL query that returns no data. Again, this really should be caught during testing phases and appears to be in the product for some time resulting in hundreds of our custom reports being invalid.

Turns out this is an issue with the product itself. Specifically it's with the 2nd rule group 'Attempt To Move (or) Rename File' in the audit action 'File Move (or) Rename - NetApp'. It looks for the the following:



Now on NetApp filers,the events that are raised might not always contain this access mask for folder renames thus as was our case, you might be missing many folder rename events and these might have been missing for some time :|

Note: I'm told it's resolved in Build 4963 by virtue of this access mask check being removed and I have confirmed so. I had to manually remove it from my build as it was pre-4693

I received a patch for build 493 to address this issues.Note: it only affects the file audit reports and not other types of reports.

Hi,

Please follow the steps given below to export the list of workstations that are being monitored through ADAudit Plus as CSV format,

1. Login to the server where ADAudit Plus is installed 
2. Open command prompt (Run as Administrator)
3. Navigate to the database location under installation directory

By default, C:\Program Files<x86>\ManageEngine\ADAudit Plus\pgsql\bin

4. Connect to the database using below command

psql.exe -Upostgres -p33307 -h127.0.0.1 adap

5. Execute the following command,

copy (select name from adsmcomputergeneraldetails where object_guid in (select object_guid from audcomputereventread where machine_type=4096)) to '<folder_path_to_save_file>/test.csv' with csv header;

6. Exit the database by typing \q

I would like to update you that the issue with 'Equals' filter has been observed only for the following parameters when used with File audit modules. 

File/Folder name
Location 

For all other parameters, the filter should work fine. The patch that was sent to you should fix the mentioned issue and the same would be integrated in our upcoming service pack.

I would like to run a report showing me all the workstations and servers on the network and what network drives each has.  Is this possible and if so how can I go about doing that?

I'm afraid ADAudit Plus doesn't have a report to show all workstations/network drives, however we could get the list of active/inactive computers based on OS from one of our solutions called " ADManager Plus " which is a comprehensive solution for AD management and reporting on live status of the objects in AD.

Please ensure that you have configured your TS-Gateway role enabled server in ADAudit Plus as follows,

1. Go to configuration tab -> Configured Member server
2. Add the TS-gateway server
3. Now you would be able to monitor the server and generate report on gateway accesses of any user by then.
4. You would find 'Terminal services gateway' report under Local Log/Logoff Reports category 

Note: This would require 'Member server add on' if the TS-gateway role is enabled on a Member server (Non-Domain controller)

We are facing an issue within a DC. Below is the error message.

Error: Remote Procedure Call failed. Error code:6be

Audit plus unable to get the event log data.

Please clear the root cause and resolution.

Error code: 6be is a Windows specific error which occurs for non availability of remote communication modules, In our case "Remote administration services". If the basic aspects like the ports were checked, please login to ADAudit Plus server and ensure the following services are running on both servers. 

Port need to be opened,

* Port "389" to communicate with the LDAP Protocol.
* Port "135" to communicate with RPC & DCOM.
* Port "445" and "135" to communicate with NetBioS Session Service

Services to be checked,

1. Windows Event Log service 
2. RPC
3. TCP/IP NetBios Helper 

If all of them are running, please open eventvwr.msc in ADAudit Plus server, and connect it to the event log of the corresponding File Server. If you get the same error code, it must be an issue with communication. 

Also if the firewall is running on either side, an inbound rule needs to be configured for Remote event log management.
